Privacy Policy

Chalk Baseball ("Chalk," "we," "us," or "our") provides a coaching platform that helps youth baseball coaches manage teams, build lineups, and track stats. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Chalk is available at chalkbaseball.com and through our iOS and Android apps. By using Chalk, you agree to this policy.
1. What We Collect
We collect only what we need to run the app:
Account information
- Your email address and password (passwords are securely hashed — we never see or store them in plain text)
Team and player information
- Team names, rosters, and player names you enter
- Batting and pitching statistics
- Lineups, game schedules, and game results
- Data you choose to import from GameChanger
Device and usage information
- Push notification device tokens (so we can send you game reminders)
- Basic usage data and error reports (so we can fix bugs and improve the app)
What we do NOT collect
- We do not store payment card numbers. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe.
- We do not collect player birthdates, addresses, photos, or contact information.
- Players do not have accounts and cannot log in.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide core app features: teams, rosters, lineups, and stat tracking
- Generate optimized batting lineups
- Send weekly game-summary emails and game reminder notifications
- Send push notifications you've opted into
- Process subscription payments (via Stripe)
- Diagnose errors and improve reliability
- Respond to support requests
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal data. Ever.
3. Third-Party Services

These providers are contractually limited to using data only to provide services to us.
4. Children's Privacy
Chalk is built for coaches, not children. You must be 18 or older to create an account.
Youth players appear in the app only as names and stats entered by their coach. Players do not have accounts, cannot log in, and are not contacted by us in any way.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us at support@chalkbaseball.com and we will delete it promptly.
If you are a parent or guardian and would like a player's name removed from a roster, please contact the coach directly, or reach out to us at support@chalkbaseball.com.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your data as long as your account is active.
You can delete your account at any time from the app's settings or by emailing support@chalkbaseball.com. When you delete your account, we permanently delete:
- Your account and email address
- All teams, rosters, and player names you created
- All stats, lineups, and game data
- Your device tokens
Deletion is completed within 30 days. Some minimal records (like payment history) may be retained by Stripe as required by law.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is 100% secure, but we work hard to keep your information safe.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (including California and the EU), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. Email us at support@chalkbaseball.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
8. Email and Notification Preferences
- Weekly summary emails: Unsubscribe anytime via the link in each email or in app settings.
- Push notifications: Turn off in app settings or your device settings.
- Transactional emails (like password resets) are sent as needed to operate your account.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or in the app before they take effect.
